Esmari

Physiotherapist

Esmari graduated at the Stellenbosch University in 2007. She did her community service at Klerksdorp/Tsepong Complex. She started her career in private practice working in an out-patient and hospital practice, seeing a wide variety of conditions and gaining a lot of experience and growth.

Her focus was to get exposure in different settings. She gained valuable knowledge at a practice specialising in TMJ (jaw) surgery. She also worked at a Sklaar, Laidler and associates, known for their excellent rehabilitation programs especially for patients struggling with shoulder conditions. She realised her passion for Orthopedics and Sport and completed her Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT) course to better her clinical skills and reasoning.

She is also a qualified Basi Pilates Mat instructor. Esmari always had a dream to work with sports teams and this dream came true....She worked as the physiotherapist for Durbell Rugby Club, is part of the Sunshine Golf tournament team and worked at the Cape Epic for a couple of years. She was a part of the Durbanville Wellness team for 7 years after which she relocated to George where she continued to work in an Orthopedic and Sports practice.

She then started a new chapter at a step-down facility, focusing on rehabilitation of neurological conditions and palliative care. The time spend here deepened her compassion and love for people and changed the way she views her purpose as a physiotherapist. Esmari was a clinical supervisor for the University of Cape Town's fourth year physiotherapy students. We welcomed Esmari back to our Durbanville Wellness Team in 2002 and she has since proven herself as a leading physio in the Durbanville area and is currently one of the managing physios of our practice. Her mottos are " Never stop learning", Don't be Wintie, be humble". She enjoys trail running especially. Her three boys gave her a new perspective on life and she loves being their mom and being a loving wife.
